Softball Game Preview: Batavia Bulldogs vs. Wilmington Hurricane

For the first time this season, Batavia will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will head out to square off against the Wilmington Hurricane at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Batavia has given up an average of 9.6 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Batavia is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They fell just short of Monroe by a score of 16-15 on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Wilmington gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener last Saturday. They walked away with a 6-2 win over Fairfield.

Batavia now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Wilmington, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.

Batavia came out on top in a nail-biter against Wilmington in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 4-2. Will Batavia repeat their success, or does Wilmington has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
