Soccer Recap: Claremont Comes Up Short

Claremont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Walnut Mustangs. While losing is never fun, the Wolfpack can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 386th, while the Mustangs are ranked 159th).

Claremont's loss dropped their record down to 3-6-1. As for Walnut, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-3-3.

Claremont wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Bonita on the 23rd. As for Walnut, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next match, a 0-0 draw against Ayala on the 23rd.
