Preview: Hobart Brickies vs. Hammond Morton Governors

Hobart is 2-8 against Hammond Morton since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Hobart Brickies will head out on the road to challenge the Hammond Morton Governors at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Hobart suffered their biggest defeat since December 2, 2023 on Friday. They suffered a rough 64-42 loss at the hands of Munster. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Hobart has suffered against Munster since January 20, 2018.

Hobart's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Aidan Leonard, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 15 rebounds, and Felix Lopez who scored 12 points along with five rebounds.

Even though they lost, Hobart smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Hammond Morton's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They took a hard 63-48 fall against Michigan City. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Hammond Morton in their matchups with Michigan City: they've now lost three in a row.

This is the second loss in a row for Hobart and nudges their season record down to 7-5. As for Hammond Morton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.

Hobart strolled past Hammond Morton when the teams last played back in January of 2023 by a score of 63-48. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hobart since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
