Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Alamosa). They blew past the Centauri Falcons 21-3 on Friday. This was a revenge game for the Mean Moose: when they faced off against the Falcons on Friday, they had to take a 11-10 defeat.
Evan Anderson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. Anderson was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one triple and one RBI.
In other batting news, Jonah Pittman was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, three RBI, and one double. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Brennan Maez was another key player, going 2-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.
Alamosa was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. They are 4-2 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
With the win, Alamosa broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 10-10. As for Centauri, their loss dropped their record down to 7-12.
Alamosa does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Centauri, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Montezuma-Cortez at 3:00 p.m. The Falcons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 10.2 runs per game this season.
