Burlington Christian Academy waltzed into their match on Monday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They came out on top against the Freedom Christian Academy Patriots by a score of 7-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 13-7 back in March.

Will Grubb spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on one hit and racked up seven Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Cooper Kelly was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Anthony Valdez, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Burlington Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 17-1. As for Freedom Christian Academy, the loss snapped their winning streak at seven games and leaves them with a 16-4 record.

Looking ahead, Burlington Christian Academy will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Triad Baptist Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. As for Freedom Christian Academy, they will take on Jackson in a tournament on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Patriots 3.4, the Ironman/Ironladies 1.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
