Boca Raton comes up short despite Brendan Mahoney's dominant performance

Recap: Boca Raton Bobcats vs. Grandview Prep Pride

It was a good run, but the Boca Raton Bobcats unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 61-52 to Grandview Prep. Boca Raton was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Grandview Prep apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.

Despite the loss, Boca Raton still got an impressive performance from Brendan Mahoney, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and five blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Henry Harris, who scored eight points along with six rebounds.

Grandview Prep's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Marco Jordonne, who scored 23 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Jordonne is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Marcson Jordonne, who scored 14 points along with three steals.

Boca Raton's loss dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Grandview Prep, their victory was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Boca Raton will take on Atlantic at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Atlantic knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight matchups -- so hopefully Boca Raton likes a good challenge. As for Grandview Prep, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Trinity Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on January 30th. Trinity Christian Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 378th, while Grandview Prep is ranked 187th).
