Softball Recap: Newport - Bellevue Takes a Loss

Newport - Bellevue was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Woodinville Falcons, falling 16-9. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Knights of the 13-9 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Lauren Blank made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run and five RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Alex Ruiz-Suarez was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Newport - Bellevue now has a losing record of 3-4-1. As for Woodinville, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.

Newport - Bellevue didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 10-8 victory against Cedarcrest on the 4th. As for Woodinville, they have also already played their next contest, a 6-4 win against Bothell on the 3rd.
