Football Recap: Havelock Rams vs. Currituck County Knights
It's playoff time, and Havelock had no trouble coming through when it counted. They put the hurt on the Currituck County Knights with a sharp 35-14 win on Friday. The victory was nothing new for the Rams as they're now sitting on six straight.
Jayden Howard was his usual excellent self, rushing for 183 yards and one TD on only 14 carries, while also picking up 50 receiving yards and one touchdown. His longest rush was for an incredible 81 yards.

Havelock didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Howard and Andrew WIlliams. With that strong performance, Howard is now averaging an impressive 106 rushing yards per game. Another thorn in Currituck County's side was DaQuarius Dunlap, who picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made 11 total tackles.
When it comes to explaining why Currituck County lost, don't look at Jamie Dance. Despite the final result, he rushed for 80 yards and a pair of scores on only ten carries, and also threw for 305 yards on 21 of 40 attempts. A healthy portion of Dance's aerial production (88 yards to be exact) went to Luka Britt.
Havelock's win bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Currituck County, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-3.
Looking ahead, Havelock will face off against Croatan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rams will need to watch out since the Cougars have now posted at least 31 points in their last four games. Currituck County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
