It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Carthage ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They came out on top against the Monett Cubs by a score of 5-4 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). This was payback for the Tigers, who suffered a 6-4 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Carthage's win bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Monett, their loss dropped their record down to 6-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carthage will welcome Nixa at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Monett, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Strafford at 4:30 p.m.
