Volleyball Recap: Longmeadow Takes a Loss

If Longmeadow was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Frontier Regional on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lancers fell 3-1 to the Westfield Bombers on Wednesday. The loss continues a trend for the Lancers in their meetings with the Bombers: they've now lost three in a row.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-16, 15-25, 25-22.

Jace Anoje paced Longmeadow's offense, picking up 16 kills. Anoje got some help from Nhan Vuong and his 38 assists. Finally, Brendan Wujek kept Longmeadow's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Longmeadow's defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Westfield, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Longmeadow will welcome Putnam Vo-Tech at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Westfield, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Newton North at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
