Soccer Game Preview: Holy Cross vs. Cooper

The Holy Cross Indians will square off against the Cooper Jaguars at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Holy Cross is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.9 goals per game this season.

Holy Cross is headed into Monday's matchup following a draw, the team's first since the 6th. They and Scott finished up on equal footing with a 2-2 draw on Saturday. The outcome might've been different if Mady Igo hadn't been hit with a yellow card, which no doubt limited her ability to make aggressive plays down the stretch.

Stella Schaffeld and Morgan Macdonald scored both of Holy Cross' goals, bringing their combined season tally to 23 goals.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Cooper and Ryle, and Ryle kept the tradition alive. The Jaguars fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 1-0 on Wednesday.

Cooper's loss dropped their record down to 10-6-2. With that draw, Holy Cross' record moves to 8-7-2.

Holy Cross might still be hurting after the 4-0 defeat they got from Cooper in their previous matchup back in September of 2024. Can the Indians avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
