Basketball Game Preview: University School of Nashville Tigers vs. Battle Ground Academy Wildcats

University School of Nashville hasn't had much luck against Battle Ground Academy recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. Having just played yesterday, the University School of Nashville Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Battle Ground Academy Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

University School of Nashville is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They had just enough and edged Hume-Fogg out 52-50. The win was some much needed relief for the Tigers as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Battle Ground Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They walked away with a 50-38 victory over Middle Tennessee Christian on Tuesday.

Battle Ground Academy pushed their record up to 7-7 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.5 points per game. As for University School of Nashville, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-7.

University School of Nashville took a serious blow against Battle Ground Academy when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 60-32. Thankfully for University School of Nashville, Abby Mclay (who went 8 for 13 on her way to 18 points in addition to six boards and three steals) won't be suiting up this time.
