Football Recap: Burbank's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Six

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Burbank had no problem doing just that on Friday. They walked away with a 52-43 victory over the Lancaster Eagles. The win was nothing new for the Bulldogs as they're now sitting on six straight.

Burbank's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tyler Hudson, who picked up 145 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Troy Wells also helped out as he racked up 101 rushing yards.

Burbank didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Lancaster to a completion percentage of just 47.6%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from two players: Chase Miles and Giordan Lewis, who each logged one passes deflected. Burbank wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 62.5%.

Burbank didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off six passes before the game was over. Diego Plancarte led the group effort, picking up four of those interceptions all by himself.

When it comes to explaining why Lancaster lost, don't look at Arthur Turner. Despite the final result, he rushed for 176 yards and one score while picking up 8.4 yards per carry. Turner showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 56 yards. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Terrance Harper, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.

Burbank's record now sits at 9-2. As for Lancaster, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-3.

Burbank didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 14-13 defeat against Roosevelt on the 14th. Lancaster does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
