Baseball Game Preview: Fox Valley Lutheran Foxes vs. Luxemburg-Casco Spartans

The Fox Valley Lutheran Foxes are taking a road trip to challenge the Luxemburg-Casco Spartans at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Fox Valley Lutheran's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Luxemburg-Casco's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Oconto Falls hit Fox Valley Lutheran with a four-run fifth inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Foxes fell 5-2 to the Panthers. The Foxes' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Fox Valley Lutheran saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jack Schlueter, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Saturday as neither Luxemburg-Casco nor Clintonville made it on the board until the sixth inning. The Spartans never let the Truckers get on the board and left with a 3-0 win. The game was the first time the Spartans have beaten the Truckers on their field since April 9, 2019.

The result came thanks to Jake Chervenka's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up 13 Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jacob Coisman, who went 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Noah Chervenka, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

The victory made it two in a row for Luxemburg-Casco and bumps their season record up to 7-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 6 runs in those games. As for Fox Valley Lutheran, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-5.

Everything went Fox Valley Lutheran's way against Luxemburg-Casco in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Fox Valley Lutheran made off with a 12-0 victory. Do the Foxes have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Spartans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
