Rio Rancho has gone 8-2 against Piedra Vista recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Rams will venture away from home to square off against the Panthers at 5:00 p.m.

Rio Rancho is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of New Mexico's top teams: Cibola, who was ranked fourth at the time (Rio Rancho was ranked tenth). The Rams fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 3-2 on Friday. Having soared to a lofty 19 runs in the game before, the Rams couldn't push the score so high this time.

Meanwhile, Piedra Vista got the win against Cleveland on Friday by a conclusive 11-1. Considering the Panthers have won 12 contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

BROOKELYNN CADRAIN made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on TAQUIRA HOOD, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. RAEGAN LEFEBRE also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Piedra Vista has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Rio Rancho, they moved to 15-8 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Rio Rancho suffered a grim 21-5 defeat to Piedra Vista in their previous meeting on April 11th. Can the Rams avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
