Ironton won the last time they faced South Point and things went their way on Monday too. The Fighting Tigers came out on top in a nail-biter against the Pointers, sneaking past 6-5. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Fighting Tigers.

Ava Bihl spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up 14 Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kenley Neal, who went 1-for-3 with one home run. Braegan Thomas was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Ironton's record now sits at 15-6. As for South Point, they moved to 16-7 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Ironton and South Point should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Fighting Tigers (ranked 137th) will meet Rock Hill (ranked 453rd) at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, South Point will challenge Chesapeake at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank advantage (195 vs. 575).
