Softball Recap: Cleveland Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Cleveland can now relate to. They fell 6-2 to the D.H. Conley Vikings on Thursday. The Rams have struggled against the Vikings recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Karsyn Hudacky put in work no matter where she played. She tossed six innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 21 consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run.

In other batting news, Kendall Gaunt was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Cleveland's defeat dropped their record down to 20-6. As for D.H. Conley, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 23-5.

Cleveland does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for D.H. Conley, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against South Caldwell on the 30th.
