Basketball Game Preview: South Caldwell Spartans vs. Hibriten Panthers

The South Caldwell Spartans will head out on the road to take on the Hibriten Panthers at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in South Caldwell's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games.

On Tuesday, South Caldwell didn't have too much trouble with Ashe County as they won 70-53. Given the Spartans' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 133rd, while the Huskies are ranked 435th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Hibriten was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 62-44 bruising from Alexander Central.

South Caldwell has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.8 points per game. As for Hibriten, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-15.

Everything came up roses for South Caldwell against Hibriten in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as the squad secured an 80-48 victory. Does South Caldwell have another victory up their sleeve, or will Hibriten turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
