Baseball Game Preview: Atlee Raiders vs. Patrick Henry Patriots

The Atlee Raiders will square off against the Patrick Henry Patriots at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Atlee has four straight victories, Patrick Henry has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Patrick Henry's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Friday: Atlee hadn't allowed a single run the last three times they've hit the field. The Raiders' pitchers stepped up to hand Highland Springs a 7-0 shutout on Monday. Considering the Raiders have won seven matches by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Varina hit Patrick Henry with a four-run seventh inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Patriots fell just short of the Blue Devils by a score of 5-4.

Atlee pushed their record up to 10-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Patrick Henry, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-8.
