            Softball Recap: River Ridge Hawks vs. Peninsula Seahawks        
        
		
        
        
            River Ridge won against Capital  on Monday with nine  runs and they decided to stick to that  run total again  on Wednesday. The Hawks came out on top against the Peninsula Seahawks by a score of  9-6. This was a revenge game for the Hawks: when they faced off against the Seahawks  on April 9th, they had to take a  5-4  loss.
 Jaylah Sok Vandergriff made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She  struck out seven batters over  four innings while giving up just one earned run off   five  hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  going a perfect 3-for-3 with one  home run, two  runs,  and one  stolen base.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Lana Trinidad, who  went 1-for-3 with one  home run, two  runs,  and two  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Raylie Birklid, who  went 2-for-4 with two  runs, one  double,  and one  RBI.
 River Ridge  hit smart and  finished the game with only two  strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Peninsula struck out ten times.

River Ridge's win was  their fourth straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 13-6. As for Peninsula, their defeat  ended  a  four-game streak of away wins  and  brought them to 12-6.
 Coming up, River Ridge will head out to  take on North Thurston  at 4:00  p.m.  on Friday. As for Peninsula, they will head out on the road to  square off against  Gig Harbor  at 6:00  p.m.  on Thursday. The Tides will roll in looking for their  eighth straight  victory, something the Seahawks surely won't give up without a fight.
