The Weldon Chargers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They breezed by Wilson Prep at home to the tune of 86-49. The win was just what Weldon needed coming off of a 63-33 loss in their prior match.

Leading Weldon to victory were Kamya Coles and Shaelyn Johnson. Coles dropped a double-double on 27 points and 13 rebounds, while Johnson dropped a double-double on 26 points and 14 steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Johnson has scored all season. Briana Moody was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.

Despite the loss, Wilson Prep saw an underclassman step up: Nakiya Boston scored 19 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Boston hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Niiyana Edwards, who scored three points along with five rebounds and two steals.

Weldon's victory bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Wilson Prep, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-16.
