Basketball Recap: Jacob Perez Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Horizon

Hanks won the last time they faced Horizon and things went their way on Friday too. The Hanks Knights snuck past the Horizon Scorpions with a 53-47 victory. The Knights didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this win makes it their second in a row.

Hanks got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jacob Perez out in front who went 5 for 9 on his way to 12 points. Perez continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Zeke Carreon, who went 6 of 14 en route to 14 points and three steals.

Hanks' win bumped their record up to 7-19. As for Horizon, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-17 record this season.

Hanks will square off against Parkland at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Horizon, they will face off against Del Valle at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Del Valle is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55 points per game this season.
