Softball Recap: Lake Minneola Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Lake Minneola can now relate to. They fell just short of the South Lake Eagles by a score of 4-3 on Wednesday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Amaliz Martinez was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season.

With the defeat, Lake Minneola broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-14. As for South Lake, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-12 record this season.
