Volleyball Game Preview: Moline Maroons vs. Geneseo Maple Leafs

The Moline Maroons will head out on the road to challenge the Geneseo Maple Leafs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Moline is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Quincy just ended the team's three-match winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 2-0 to the Blue Devils.

While Moline was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 25-21.

Meanwhile, Geneseo entered their tilt with Galesburg on Tuesday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Silver Streaks. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Maple Leafs have posted since September 30th.

Geneseo had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-22, 25-19.

Moline now has a losing record of 11-12. As for Geneseo, their win bumped their record up to 16-8.
