Wiregrass Ranch and River Ridge are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2015, but likely not for long. The Wiregrass Ranch Bulls will face off against the River Ridge Royal Knights at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Wiregrass Ranch will be strutting in after a victory while River Ridge will be coming in after a defeat.
Wiregrass Ranch was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Zephyrhills on Tuesday. Wiregrass Ranch put the hurt on Zephyrhills with a sharp 17-2 win. Considering the Bulls' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Kylie Glatfelter made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Chloe Troupe was incredible, going 3-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in RBI. Another player making a difference was Sophia Estevez, who scored two runs while going 4-for-4.
Wiregrass Ranch was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .475. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Zephyrhills only posted a batting average of .292.
Meanwhile, River Ridge fell victim to Calvary Christian and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors. The Royal Knights have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meetings.
Wiregrass Ranch's record now sits at 5-3. As for River Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Wiregrass Ranch has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like River Ridge struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.3 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
