Grand Junction Central beats Skyline for their second straight win

On Friday, The Grand Junction Central Warriors got themselves on the board against the Skyline Falcons, but the Skyline Falcons never followed suit. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Falcons 3-0. The win made it back-to-back wins for Grand Junction Central.

Kane Thornton threw for 107 yards on eight of 17 attempts. Cam Redding was his top target, picking up 137 receiving yards. On the ground, Torhyn Scott rushed for 94 yards.

When it comes to explaining why Skyline lost, one person who can't be blamed is Rahman Carson. Despite the final result, he rushed for 131 yards on only 12 carries. Carson was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 67 yards.

Grand Junction Central now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Skyline, their defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 1-8.

Grand Junction Central will take on Windsor at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Windsor is ranked 48th, while Grand Junction Central is ranked 62nd). As for Skyline, they will head out on the road to face off against Greeley Central at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Greeley Central is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
