With a playoff win on the line, Carrollton rose to the challenge on Friday. They came out on top against the Calhoun Warriors by a score of 5-2. Winning may never get old, but the Hawks sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Lauren Flowers was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hannah Uhles, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Carrollton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in five consecutive contests.

Carrollton's win bumped their record up to 35-1. As for Calhoun, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 23-9 record.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Carrollton beat the Warriors by a score of 5-1 later that day.
