Basketball Recap: Rutland Starts off Right with Win over Champlain Valley Union

Rutland gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Saturday. They walked away with a 52-40 win over the Champlain Valley Union Redhawks. This was payback for the Raiders, who suffered a 55-46 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Rutland didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 59-54 victory against South Burlington on the 17th. As for Champlain Valley Union, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 54-26 win against Mount Anthony on the 21st.
