Volleyball Recap: Iona Prep Picks Up 13th Straight Win on the Road

It's playoff time, and Iona Prep had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top against the Regis Raiders by a score of 3-1 on Thursday. Winning may never get old, but the Gaels sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

The victory didn't come easy: Regis scored at least 19 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 22-25, 25-21, 25-19.

Iona Prep can attribute much of their success to Jacob Chiu, who had nine digs and three aces. The dominant performance also gave Chiu a new career-high in assists (four).

Iona Prep pushed their record up to 13-2 with the win, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Regis, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Iona Prep will host Xavier at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Regis does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
