Baseball Game Preview: Fountain Central Mustangs vs. Riverton Parke Panthers

Fountain Central hasn't had much luck against Riverton Parke recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Mustangs will take on the Panthers at 6:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Fountain Central is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They came out on top against North Vermillion by a score of 6-2. The win continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now won eight in a row.

Meanwhile, Riverton Parke had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Trojans 2-0.

Riverton Parke's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jackson While, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Fountain Central's record is now 7-18. As for Riverton Parke, their record now sits at 17-9.

Fountain Central suffered a grim 12-5 defeat to Riverton Parke in their previous meeting back in April. Can the Mustangs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
