Softball Recap: Peninsula Gets the Win

While Peninsula's win against Auburn Mountainview wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Seahawks skirted past the Lions 10-8. That's more bragging rights for the Seahawks, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Meghan Webster made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Webster was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Peninsula got a massive performance out of Izzy Michaels, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Paige Jones, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two RBI and one double.

Peninsula is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season. As for Auburn Mountainview, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 16-6.

Looking ahead, Peninsula will take on Southridge at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Suns will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last. As for Auburn Mountainview, they will host Hermiston at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Lions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 10.8 runs per game this season.
