Baseball Recap: Six Straight Road Victories for Arlington

While Arlington's win against Grand Prairie wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Colts' pitcher stepped up to hand the Gophers a 2-0 shutout on Tuesday. The Colts haven't had any issues with the Gophers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Not much got past Danny Bustamante, who gave up just four hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Grand Prairie off the board. Bustamante also tossed no walks, which is notable because Arlington is 6-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 8-10 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Arlington saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Abraham Alvarado, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.

Arlington's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-11. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Grand Prairie, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-19.

Arlington will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Gophers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
