Volleyball Recap: Sylvan-Lucas Finds Home Court Redemption Against Tescott

There's no place like home for Sylvan-Lucas, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Tescott Trojans on Tuesday. The Mustangs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Trojans, too.

Sylvan-Lucas easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-16.

Their offense was headlined by Lauren Brokes and Morgan Finkenbinder, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Olivia Crawford and her five assists. Finkenbinder was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

The victory made it two in a row for Sylvan-Lucas and bumps their season record up to 17-8. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-19 Pike Valley and 10-13-1 Tescott. As for Tescott, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-13-1.

Coincidentally, Sylvan-Lucas and Tescott will both be playing Pike Valley the next time they take the court. The Trojans will head out to face the Panthers on Tuesday, while the Mustangs will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
