Basketball Game Preview: Vandebilt Catholic Terriers vs. A.J. Ellender Patriots

The Vandebilt Catholic Terriers will venture away from home to square off against the A.J. Ellender Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Vandebilt Catholic will bounce into Monday's game after beating South Lafourche, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Everything went Vandebilt Catholic's way against South Lafourche on Friday as Vandebilt Catholic made off with an 82-56 victory. The Terriers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matches by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask A.J. Ellender). They breezed by Assumption to the tune of 77-31 on Friday. The Patriots haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Vandebilt Catholic has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 22-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.4 points over those games. As for A.J. Ellender, their victory bumped their record up to 14-28.
