Basketball Game Preview: Marianna Bulldogs vs. Bay Tornadoes

The Marianna Bulldogs will head out on the road to challenge the Bay Tornadoes at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Marianna is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.8 points per game this season.

Last Thursday, Marianna didn't have too much trouble with Lighthouse Private Christian Academy as they won 47-33. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 95th, while the Stingrays are ranked 553rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mason Mobley was his usual excellent self, going 7 for 14 on his way to 15 points and six steals. Those six steals gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ja'Cobi Hall, who posted seven points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Bay lost to Fort Walton Beach on the road by a 61-44 margin on Saturday.

The win made it two in a row for Marianna and bumps their season record up to 14-3. As for Bay, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-9.

Marianna barely slipped by Bay when the teams last played back in December of 2024, winning 71-70. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Bay's Zabeyon Morgan, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten boards. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Marianna still be able to contain Morgan? There's only one way to find out.
