Baseball Game Preview: Victor Blue Devils vs. Tuscarora Huskies

The Victor Blue Devils will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Tuscarora Huskies at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tuscarora took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Victor, who comes in off a win.

Victor hadn't beaten Webster Schroeder on the road since May 2, 2022 but that history sure didn't bother them last Monday. The Blue Devils sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 win over the Warriors.

Meanwhile, Tuscarora was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 11-5 to Varsity Opponent.

Tuscarora got a good showing from Ethan Johnson, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Johnson has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Connor Quill was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that he launched this season. Another player making a difference was Michael Kozikowski, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

The victory got Victor back to even at 1-1. As for Tuscarora, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.
