Basketball Recap: Unalakleet Picks Up 15th Straight Win on the Road

Unalakleet had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34.5 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 56-52 W against the Cordova Wolverines. Given the Wolfpack's advantage in MaxPreps' Alaska basketball rankings (they are ranked fifth, while the Wolverines are ranked 82nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Unalakleet's victory was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-2. As for Cordova, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.
