Payne Tech won the last time they faced East Side and things went their way on Thursday too. The Lions put the hurt on the Red Raiders with a sharp 9-2 win. Considering the Lions have won four matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Payne Tech's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for East Side, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Payne Tech will welcome Tech at 11:00 a.m. on Monday. As for East Side, they will challenge Newark Central at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday. The Blue Devils have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.75 runs per game on average), something the Red Raiders will no doubt try to take advantage of.
