Strongsville and Stow-Munroe Falls squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Strongsville had to settle for second. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs. The Mustangs' defeat signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.

Nolan Beard paced Strongsville's offense, picking up 13 kills. Beard got some help from Anthony Pinzone and his 21 assists. Beard also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with John Papandreas, racking up two apiece.

Strongsville's loss dropped their record down to 16-8. As for Stow-Munroe Falls, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-11 record this season.

Strongsville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Stow-Munroe Falls, they will take on St. Ignatius at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wildcats will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something the Bulldogs surely won't give up without a fight.
