Basketball Game Preview: Poplar Springs Atomics vs. Paxton Bobcats

Poplar Springs is 1-9 against Paxton since November of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and challenge one another at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 66-37, which was the final score in Poplar Springs' tilt against Chipley last Friday. The Atomics have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Paxton unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak last Saturday. They fell 38-25 to Baker. The matchup marked the Bobcats' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Wade Borgesen was Paxton's leading scorer, having posted seven points.

Poplar Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Paxton, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8.

Poplar Springs came up short against Paxton when the teams last played back in February of 2019, falling 57-50. Can Poplar Springs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
