Baseball Recap: Lawrence North Takes a Loss

Lawrence North fell victim to Southport and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 2-0. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cardinals apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2023.

Lawrence North has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season. As for Southport, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-6.

Coming up, Lawrence North will host Pike at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wildcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Red Devils have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season. As for Southport, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 9-6 defeat against Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory on the 10th.
