Baseball Game Preview: Apex Friendship Patriots vs. A.C. Reynolds Rockets

The Apex Friendship Patriots will head out to face off against the A.C. Reynolds Rockets at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Apex Friendship will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.

On Thursday, Apex Friendship needed a bit of extra time to put away Asheville. They blew past the Cougars 10-4.

Caden Oxendine looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Apex Friendship let Drew Ciaccio and Connor Sousa run wild. Ciaccio scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Sousa went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI. Apex Friendship is undefeated when Ciaccio posts two or more runs, but 4-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Braden Bloom, who scored two runs and stole a base.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask A.C. Reynolds). Everything went their way against West Henderson on Thursday as they made off with a 13-2 win. The Rockets haven't had any issues with the Falcons recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Apex Friendship pushed their record up to 10-5 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for A.C. Reynolds, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.
