Softball Recap: Oil City Oilers vs. Jamestown Muskies

Oil City extended their losing streak to 15 on Monday, dropping their season record down to 1-16 in the process. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jamestown Muskies. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Muskies this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-1 back in April.

As for Jamestown, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games.

For Jamestown's part, Miranda Biles made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. Biles has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.
