Softball Game Preview: St. Mary's Rams vs. Lincoln Trojans

The St. Mary's Rams will be taking part in a tournament against the Lincoln Trojans at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

St. Mary's saw some tournament action on Thursday. They fell 6-1 to Monterey Trail. The match marked the Rams' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

St. Mary's saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maya Garcia, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that Garcia hit this season.

Meanwhile, Lincoln didn't have quite enough to beat Yuba City on Friday and fell 4-3.

Mallory Wagner was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Lincoln's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for St. Mary's, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.

St. Mary's was able to grind out a solid victory over Lincoln in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, winning 12-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
