Softball Recap: Springtown Now 12-2 over Last 14 Games

Springtown won the last time they faced Castleberry and things went their way on Friday too. The Porcupines put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 11-1 victory. The Porcupines might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matchups by seven runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Reiss DeLaFuente, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Harmony Flores was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Springtown has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Castleberry, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-19-1.

Springtown wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 6-0 victory against Decatur on the 14th. As for Castleberry, they will square off against Burkburnett at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Lions surely won't give up without a fight.
