            Softball Recap: Coosa Valley Academy Rebels vs. North River Christian Chargers        
        
		
        
        
            Coosa Valley Academy hadn't done well against North River Christian recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way  on Monday. The Coosa Valley Academy Rebels came out on top against the North River Christian Chargers by a score of  9-6. The Rebels' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most  runs they've scored all season.

 Chloe Mims spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned  (and two unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up seven Ks. Those seven  strikeouts set a new season-high mark for  her.
 On the hitting side,  Rylee Carmack and  Corlee Johnson did most of the damage at the plate:  Carmack  scored a  run while going 3-for-4, while  Johnson  went 2-for-4 with two  runs and one  triple. That's the most  runs  Johnson has posted since back in February of 2024.  Abigail Chaviers also deserves some recognition as  she  scored her first  runs of the season.
 Coosa Valley Academy  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 11  hits. That's the most  hits they've managed all season.
Coosa Valley Academy's first  win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for North River Christian, they now  have a losing record of 1-2.
Coosa Valley Academy will have a chance to go back-to-back against North River Christian: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled  at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
