Softball Recap: Lower Merion Aces vs. Garnet Valley Jaguars

Lower Merion had lost four straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 7-14-1 to make it five. They lost 12-0 to the Garnet Valley Jaguars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Jaguars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 23-4 back in April.

As for Garnet Valley, their record now sits at 11-8. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by six runs or more this season.

For Garnet Valley's part, they got a great performance from Ashlyn Thompson as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Thompson has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Alaina Sareyka, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Audrie Criswell, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lower Merion will face off against Marple Newtown at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Garnet Valley, they will challenge Upper Dublin at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
