League recap: Midwest City moves into state Top 25

Midwest City was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after defeating Del City. The Bombers came in at 18 in the state poll after placing at number 36 last week.

Moore lost to Southmoore 58-14 last week, the largest margin of any game.

Norman North's dynamic duo of David Cornwell and Nick Ba8quine proved to be unstoppable against Westmoore, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Cornwell threw for 357 yards and 3 touchdowns and Ba8quine had 192 yards receiving. Tyler Sipe helped Norman North's passing attack out by catching 7 balls for 76 yards.

The Timberwolves' dynamic duo of Cornwell and Ba8quine proved tough for the Jaguars to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.

Cornwell put up the best numbers through the air as Norman North fell to Westmoore.

Bently Bross was the most successful running back in 6A District 3 this week. He ran for 98 yards on 15 carries as Eisenhower fell to the Jaguars. Teammate BJ Davis added to the ground attack by rushing for 64 yards.

Ba8quine was the best receiver in the league this week as the Timberwolves lost to Westmoore.

Norman North's Cornwell and Z'quan Hogan have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Cornwell has thrown for 956 yards this season, while Hogan, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 27 catches for 319 yards. Jarvis Jaskson from the Eagles leads the league in rushing with 275 yards.

The most important game in 6A District 3 this week will be the match up between Midwest City and the Timberwolves. The Bombers comes into the matchup ranked 18th in the state, while Norman North ranks 22nd.

The Timberwolves' offense has scored 79 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while Midwest City has allowed only 30 on the year.

Yukon made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 1,220 from 2,167. The improvement came about via a 21-19 victory over Norman last week.
