Basketball Game Preview: Kingstree Blazers vs. Marion Swamp Foxes

The Kingstree Blazers will face off against the Marion Swamp Foxes at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Kingstree is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.7 points per game this season.

Marion will be up against a hot Kingstree team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Kingstree came out on top against East Clarendon by a score of 42-31 on Friday.

Naydia Shaw continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 29 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Kingstree's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaiden McKnight, who posted no points along with five blocks and four steals.

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Marion's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 50-49 to Lake City.

Marion's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-7. As for Kingstree, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season.

Kingstree came up short against Marion in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 49-44. Can Kingstree avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
