Basketball Game Preview: Greenfield Knights vs. Clayton Comets

Having just played yesterday, the Greenfield Knights will jump right back in to play the Clayton Comets at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Friday, Greenfield humbled Coastal Christian with a 67-21 victory. Given the Knights' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 38th, while the Centurions are ranked 525th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Clayton entered their matchup against Garner on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Clayton fell to Garner 75-70. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Monday (65), the Comets still had to take the loss.

Greenfield pushed their record up to 14-7 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.3 points per game. As for Clayton, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-4.
